How we research, write, review, and disclose.

This page explains how we research and write what we publish, and how we handle commercial relationships. We’d rather over-explain this than leave you guessing.

How We Research

Our guides are written by our editorial team based on publicly available information, general industry practice, and where relevant, direct conversations with professionals in the field. Property and finance rules — cooling-off periods, stamp duty concessions, lending criteria — change over time and vary by state, so we write in general terms and encourage readers to confirm current, location-specific detail with a qualified professional before acting on it.

How We Review and Update

Pillar guides are reviewed periodically and updated when rules or market conditions change materially. If you spot something outdated or incorrect, we want to know.

Corrections: If you find an error, factual or otherwise, contact us and we’ll review and correct it promptly. We don’t quietly edit published claims without acknowledging a correction when the change is material.

Commercial Relationships and Disclosure

Where we mention a specific buyer’s agent, broker, or lender by name, it’s because they’re relevant to the topic. Where any of those mentions come from a paid placement, referral arrangement, or other commercial relationship, it is disclosed on our Partners page — specifically against each partner listed there.

Authorship

Content on this site is published under three editorial bylines — Marva Collins, Property Desk, and Finance Desk — representing the small team behind this project. See our About page for more.

Use of Images

Photography on this site is a mix of licensed stock imagery and AI-generated imagery used for illustrative purposes; images are not photographs of real transactions, properties, or the individuals discussed in our guides unless specifically captioned as such.
